Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what data the wimehome.com website and the WiMe apps (RestorePad, Live Translation) process, why, how long it is kept, and what rights you have. We collect only what the website needs to work and use no advertising or third-party analytics.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The WiMe website is owned by a sole proprietor (Ukrainian FOP). For any data questions, write to support@wimehome.com.
2. What data we process
- Account (if you register): username, name, email, password stored as an irreversible hash (bcrypt), registration date. We never store or see your password in plain text.
- Chat: your messages, my replies and when they were sent.
- Visit statistics: date, browser type (user-agent) and an anonymised identifier — a hash of the IP address with a salt that changes daily. The IP cannot be recovered from it. Used only to count visitors.
- Technical request data: the IP address is used temporarily in server memory to protect against password guessing (login attempt limit) and is not recorded.
We collect no payment data, build no advertising profiles and do not sell data.
3. Purposes and legal basis
- Account and chat — so you can message me and get a reply (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Abuse protection and anonymised statistics — legitimate interest in the security and operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies and local storage
The website uses only strictly necessary cookies, which do not require consent:
token— keeps you signed in; httpOnly, HTTPS only, valid for 30 days.lang— your chosen website language, 1 year.
There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts, icons and libraries are served from our own server, so visiting pages does not send your data to Google, Meta or other CDNs.
5. Who receives data
- Hosting provider whose server runs the website and database.
- Google (Gmail) — when you write in the chat, I receive an email notification with your name, username, email and message text.
There are no other recipients. Data may be processed outside the EU (including the USA in the case of Google) under standard contractual clauses or other mechanisms provided by the GDPR.
6. How long we keep data
- Account and chat — as long as the account exists. When the account is deleted, its data and messages are deleted.
- Visit statistics — 30 days; after that only daily totals remain (counts without identifiers).
- Notification emails in the mailbox — no longer than needed to reply.
7. RestorePad and Live Translation apps
- The apps run on your computer and send us no data, telemetry or reports.
- Live Translation processes audio and text locally. If you enable AI editing via OpenAI, Google Gemini or another external service, text is sent to that service with your own key and handled under its policy — we do not receive it. The same applies to the "Send to URL" feature, which you configure yourself.
- When you download files, the server processes only technical request data, as for any page.
8. Your rights
You have the right to get a copy of your data, correct it, delete your account with all messages, restrict or object to processing, and receive your data in a machine-readable format. Just write to support@wimehome.com — we reply within 30 days.
You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country (for example, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands).
9. Security
The website runs over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as hashes, sign-in is protected against guessing, and only administrators can access the admin panel.
10. Children
The website and chat are not intended for children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page.
